Chemotherapy:

Chemotherapy has not had a major role in the treatment of prostate cancer. Although investigations are ongoing regarding the treatment of patients who have developed spread of their prostate cancer to other sites in their body, little data suggests it is effective in the treatment of early and intermediate stage prostate cancers or in cancers that have not yet been treated with hormones.

There is ongoing investigation on the possible benefits of combining chemotherapy and hormonal therapy for patients with metastatic prostate cancer.
